Verhaltensökonomik und modernes Marketing

Verhaltensbeeinflussung ist ein zentrales Ziel des Marketings. Im Laufe der Jahre haben Unternehmen intensiv zu ergründen versucht, was die Kaufentscheidungen von Verbrauchern bestimmt, denn wenn sie die entsprechenden Faktoren kennen, können sie die Konsumenten dazu bewegen, mehr von den eigenen Produkten zu kaufen. Folglich besteht der hauptsächliche Zweck der Werbung nicht darin, Informationen zu vermitteln, sondern darin, Wahrnehmungen zu beeinflussen. Die bekanntesten Beispiele beschwören einen Lebensstil, der den Verbrauchern als erstrebenswert erscheint, selbst wenn er dem der tatsächlichen Nutzer des Produkts gar nicht entspricht. Der »Marlboro Man« ist ein besonders krasses Beispiel für diese Strategie.16
