13. Grilled Jalapeno Tuna Steak with Tomato and Avocado Salad

Ingredients
Grilled Jalapeno Tuna Steaks:
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 teaspoons lime juice
- 1 teaspoon lime zest, grated
- 1 jalapeno pepper, minced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 pound ahi tuna steaks
Tomato and Avocado Salad:
- 4 medium ripe tomatoes, chopped
- 2 ripe avocados, chopped
- 1/4 cup onion, diced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/4 teaspoon Dijon mustard
Directions
- Place steaks in a shallow dish.
- Combine olive oil, lime juice, lime zest, jalapeno pepper, garlic, ginger, salt, and pepper. Pour mixture over steaks; turning to coat evenly.
- Place in the fridge and marinate for 20 minutes.
- Grease the grill grate lightly with olive oil. Preheat grill for high heat.
- Grill steaks for 6 minutes each side until they are beginning to firm and are hot in the center.
- Toss together all ingredients for the salad in a bowl. Chill and serve with the tuna steak.
