11. Crock Pot Cabbage Rolls

Ingredients
- 12 leaves cabbage
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 cup onion, minced
- 1 cup cooked white rice
- 1/2 cup tomatoes, diced
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/4 cup low-fat milk
- 1 pound extra-lean ground beef
- 1 teaspoons sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoons ground black pepper
- 1 cup organic tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon low-sodium gluten-free Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon unrefined brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Directions
- Boil a large pot of water. Add the cabbage leaves and bring to a boil for 2 minutes; drain and set aside.
- Combine garlic, onion, rice, tomatoes, egg, milk, and beef in a large bowl; season with salt and pepper.
- Fill the center of each cabbage leaf with about 1/4 cup of meat mixture then roll up, and tuck in ends. Place rolls in a 4 or 5-quart slow cooker.
- Stir together tomato sauce, worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, and lemon juice in a small bowl then pour over cabbage rolls.
- Cover, and cook on low 8 to 9 hours.
