5. Fruits N’ Nuts Cereal

Ingredients
- 1/4 cup quinoa, rinsed well
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup skim milk
- 1/3 cup gluten-free rolled oats
- 1 tablespoon ground flax seed
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 medium ripe banana, sliced
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 tablespoons raw honey
- 1/4 cup walnuts, chopped
Directions
- Place a saucepan over medium heat.
- Combine quinoa, water, and milk in the saucepan then bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer mixture for 10 to 15 minutes, until soft.
- Add the rolled oats, ground flax seeds, cinnamon, salt, and banana. Cook for additional 5 minutes; stirring frequently until mixture thickens.
- Remove pan from the heat then stir in the vanilla, honey, and walnuts.
