This home is located on the outskirts of Binh Duong, a newly developing urban area that is surrounded by houses in a variety of architectural styles. In this environment, a21studĩo and their client were keen that the new house should be “seen to be green” without compromising its comfort.
Due to the budgetary constraints of the project, the main frame of the house is formed from a light structure of sheet iron and steel in place of the usual bricks and mortar. Using this structure, as well as allowing the mortar to be lighter, it helps to cut construction times to less than the norm, enabling cost savings as a result.
With its columns and steel beams that connect to metal sheets, the framework of the house is covered or filled with plants, from a distance creating the impression of being a green box. Between the cold metal bars, nature defines itself.
Besides its low cost, the metal structure provides great spatial flexibility, which has captured the attention of Vietnamese society. By using abandoned items and having enough space to be able to live intelligently, it is possible to have a comfortable house that is committed to nature and flexible enough for any future requirements.
