Però, dato che l’algoritmo è stato sviluppato sulla base di fotografie che le persone avevano selezionato per caricarle su siti di appuntamenti, l’algoritmo potrebbe in realtà identificare le differenze negli ideali culturali. Non significa che le caratteristiche somatiche delle persone gay siano necessariamente diverse da quelle degli etero. Piuttosto, gli uomini gay che caricano immagini su siti di appuntamenti gay cercano di adeguarsi a ideali culturali diversi da quelli di uomini etero che caricano foto su siti per appuntamenti etero.
