This would have been our twenty-sixth anniversary. Two days ago, like some awful kind of early present, I got a call from Bobby. It was a long conversation, and by the end of it, I was a confirmed believer in demons, because after twenty-one years, we might just have a real lead on what happened to Mary. All the things I’ve seen, and I wrote them off to other kinds of phenomena… Goddamnit. I should have been listening all this time. How much closer would I be? Years of lost time to make up for. For a while I thought it might have been Lilith, but now I know better.
I haven’t told Dean yet. Can’t take the chance that he’d try something he’s not ready to do. I’ve already lost Mary, and Sam. I can’t lose Dean too.

Mary has been dead for twenty-one years. At last I’m getting closer. If it was a demon that killed her, and I think it was, I’m going to nail down which one. Then I’m going to make it suffer.
Sibly on demons:
Their misery is unquestionably great and infinite; but not through the effect of outward flames; for their bodies are capable of piercing through wood and iron, stone, and all terrestrial things. Neither is all the fire or fuel of this world able to torment them; for in a moment they can pierce it through and through.
We’ll see.
November 23:
Still tracking the Colt. It’s out there somewhere. Word is that a hunter has it, but nobody I know will say who. Someone’s hiding it. Why? If If had it, all I’d need is one bullet. A gun that can kill anything… one bullet, for the demon that killed Mary. Then I could put down all my guns, and rest.

Amon. Seventh of the ranking spirits of Hell. “Appeareth like a wolf with a serpent’s tail, vomiting out of his mouth flames of fire.” Nothing about him in Testament of Solomon.
Aim. Twenty-third spirit. Three heads, riding a snake and “carrying a Firebrand in his Hand, werewith he setteth cities, castles, and great Places, on fire.”
Asmoday. Thrity-second spirit. “Sitteth upon an Infernal Dragon,” and breathes fire. In Testament of Solomon, he say he can’t be forced to tell the truth: “But how shall I answer thee, for thou art a son of man; whereas I was born an angel’s seed by a daughter of man, so that no word of our heavenly kind addressed to the earth-born can be overweening.” Hates water. According to Weyer, the conjuror’s ring can force him to tell the truth.
Amy/Avnas. Fifty-eighth spirit, “appeareth at first in the form of a Flaming Fire.” Will take human shape, and disclose secrets and treasures guarded by spirits. Grants familiars.
Haures/Flauros. Sixty-fourth spirit. “He putteth on a human shape with Eyes Flaming and Fiery… He destroyeth and burneth up those who be the Enemies of the Exorcist should he so desire it.” But also a skilled deceiver if he’s not kept within the boundaries of the trap. Will talk of heaven and hell, and of the Fall.
Marchosias. A wolf with griffin’s wings, breathes fire, will take human shape. Gives true answers.
Balam. Three heads, burning eyes, rides a bear. Can make things invisible. “Of the order of dominations,” according to Weyer.
Allocen. A soldier riding a horse, red-faced and with burning eyes. Will grant familiars.
