Russian phrasebook
Russian is a Slavic language spoken by 170 million people world-wide. Most people living in Russia use it as a first language, and many other people in Central Asia and other parts of the former Soviet Union know it as a second language.
Russian has a fairly simple verb system - past, present, future - except for one thing: verbs come in pairs called perfective and imperfective and there's no simple rule telling which two go together. Nouns and adjectives have six cases and three genders.
One important note: the handwritten Russian alphabet looks much different than the printed alphabet. Russians never use the printed alphabet when writing by hand.
