dripping pearls
ÚÛ
When decorating with oversized sugar flowers, like this Bayahibe rose, little additional decoration is needed as you want to allow the blooms to naturally be center stage.
Ball sprinkles are a great way to add a little extra pop of design or color in an effortless way. Here they are positioned to resemble a dripping string of pearls. To make metallic hues, combine powder dye with a few drops of vodka in a bowl, add the sprinkles, and stir gently until the sprinkles are fully colored. Apply the sprinkles to a cake with tweezers for a deliberate design or simply toss them on for a more casual accent.

To re-create this oversized Bayahibe rose, follow the instructions for making petals on wire on page 148, using light pink sugar paste. Here, I added extra petals to create a dramatically large rose.
