The over $2,300 price range is the cream of the crop for what you’re going to need. In this bracket, you can afford a full-frame camera. Full-frame means that the large chip inside the camera that captures images covers a field of view equal to that of a classic film camera. So with the same lens and standing at the same spot, you’ll get a much wider field of view on a full-frame camera than on other digital cameras (appropriately called crop-sensors because the field of view is “cropped down” and smaller). The wider field of view is useful for street style fashion photography, since you will probably end up in some crowded situations where you can’t really back up very far from your subject. With a wide-angle lens on a full-frame camera, you can photograph your subject from head to toe standing only five feet or so away. The other very important advantages in this price range are a considerable jump in resolution, true colors, and excellent image quality under a wider array of lighting conditions. You’ll discover that a high-end camera will give you better results in less than ideal light conditions.
