One of Chicago’s most famous landmarks, artist Anish Kapoor’s Cloud Gate, or the “Bean,” as it is affectionately called by locals, offers numerous photo ops as the cityscape and its ever-changing light and weather is reflected in the Bean’s highly polished surface. Handholding my camera and wide-angle lens, I moved close to the Bean and looked up, initially capturing part of the Chicago skyline along with its reflection in the Bean (first image). After moving a bit closer to the Bean while still looking through the camera, I was able to merge a portion of the reflection in the Bean with the actual skyline, resulting in an unusual abstract (second image).
