Their descriptions of the application of airpower—a new wingman’s first combat sortie, a support officer’s view of an FS relocation during combat, and Sandy pilot’s efforts to find and rescue a downed F-177 pilot—provide the reader with a legitimate insight into an air war at the tactical level and the airpower that helped convince Milosevic to capitulate.

Der arme Spielmann ist eine 1848 erschienene Rahmennovelle. Grillparzer beschäftigte sich seit 1831 mit dem Stoff, anfangs als Versuch eines autobiografischen Romans. Der Text wurde mehrfach überarbeitet und die Niederschrift immer wieder unterbrochen. Der Erzähler mischt sich bei einer Kirchweih unter das Volk. Er begegnet einem alten Spielmann, der auf seiner Geige eine Art Katzenmusik spielt. Als er ihm eine Münze gibt, kommen sie kurz miteinander ins Gespräch. Dadurch wird der Erzähler neugierig auf dessen Schicksal und besucht ihn eines Morgens in seiner ärmlichen Behausung. Dort erzählt ihm der alte Musikant seine Lebensgeschichte.<
